What is happening in space 2022
This has been an excellent year for space exploration, with many significant advances being made. The new space telescopes have given us a much better understanding of the universe, and the belated test launch of the rocket has finally given us a way to get to the Moon again. This year has seen a steady flow of major forward steps in humanity’s quest to investigate the cosmos, and we can only hope that the momentum will continue into the future.
It’s been a busy year for NASA! They completed a lot of development work in low-Earth orbit, made history on Mars, and continued to make progress on their Artemis plans for the Moon. They also tested new technologies for a supersonic aircraft and finalized launch preparations for the next-generation space telescope. All of this was done while keeping everyone safe.
What is the latest news from NASA?
This is great news! The Axiom Space team has worked hard to get to this point and we’re excited to see what they can do with this second mission. We’re confident that they will continue to provide a safe and reliable platform for private astronauts to conduct their research and exploration in low Earth orbit.
The Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter are on a mission to Mars to search for signs of ancient microbial life. The Ingenuity helicopter will be used to explore Mars’ surface and collect data about the planet’s climate and geology.
Why won t we go back to the Moon?
The moon is a dangerous place for humans to try and land on and explore. The surface is covered in craters and large rocks that could easily damage any spacecraft that tries to land there. Furthermore, the moon is incredibly old and has been bombarded by asteroid and cometary impacts for billions of years. This makes it a very hostile environment for any life forms, let alone humans. NASA must take these dangers into account when planning any future missions to the moon.
Current missions include the Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (EVM-1) (CYGNSS), the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), and eight more.
What will NASA do in 2023
Psyche is an asteroid that is thought to be composed primarily of iron and other metals. NASA’s Launch Services Program is planning to launch a spacecraft to investigate Psyche as early as October 2023. The Psyche spacecraft will use a variety of instruments to study the asteroid’s surface, interior, and environment. The mission will help scientists understand the formation and evolution of Psyche and other metal-rich asteroids.
SpaceX Starship will be the largest spacecraft capable of carrying humans from Earth to destinations in space. It will be the most powerful launch vehicle ever to fly, capable of lifting 100 metric tons of cargo to low Earth orbit.
What did NASA find in space?
The discovery of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of a planet outside of our solar system is a significant discovery for NASA. This is the first clear evidence of carbon dioxide on a planet outside of our solar system and it could help to better understand the formation and evolution of planetary atmospheres.
Currently, there are 10 people in space. This includes the International Space Station crew, as well as two people on a Soyuz spacecraft who are currently docked at the ISS. There are also six people aboard a Chinese space station.
Has NASA discovered anything new

It is tragic that 15 astronauts and 4 cosmonauts have lost their lives in spaceflight accidents. Three of these accidents occurred above the Kármán line, and one was intended to reach that altitude. In each case, the entire crew was killed. This underscores the dangers of spaceflight and the need for continued safety efforts.
The existence of a ninth planet in the outer Solar System has been speculated for many years, but has never been directly observed. However, recent evidence from the orbital behavior of objects beyond Neptune has led many scientists to believe that Planet 9 may indeed be lurking in the dark depths of space.
If Planet 9 exists, it is likely to be a huge world, perhaps even larger than Neptune. It would take up to 20,000 years to orbit the Sun, and would be so far away that it would be very difficult to observe directly. However, its gravitational influence would be detectable, and could explain the strange orbital behavior of some objects in the outer Solar System.
Whether or not Planet 9 exists is still an open question, but the evidence is certainly suggestive. If this ghost planet does exist, it would be an amazing discovery, and would shed new light on the formation and evolution of our Solar System.
The sun is getting farther away from Earth over time. On average, Earth is about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) from the sun, according to NASA. However, its orbit is not perfectly circular; it’s slightly elliptical, or oval-shaped. This means that sometimes, Earth is closer to the sun (perihelion) and sometimes it’s farther away (aphelion). Right now, we’re closer to the sun than we have been in about 100,000 years.
