The Main Visitor Complex at Kennedy Space Center is a great place to watch a rocket launch. The viewing area is located right next to Space Shuttle Atlantis, on North Atlantis Lawn. You are able to see the rocket at around 7 miles away once it’s over the treeline. The best part about watching from this viewing area is that it is free!

Spaceport America is a commercial spaceport situated in the Jornada del Muerto desert in New Mexico, United States. It is the world’s first purpose-built spaceport. The spaceport consists of a launch complex, a landing zone, a rocket production facility, and a visitor center. The spaceport is home to Virgin Galactic, The Spaceship Company, and XCOR Aerospace, who are developing commercial spacecraft for suborbital tourist flights and suborbital spaceflights respectively.
The spaceport is not open to the public, but private tours can be arranged in advance.
If you’re interested in seeing the SpaceX facility, your best bet is to head to Boca Chica or South Padre Island. You may be able to see the Starship building site from Boca Chica, and you may even be able to witness a launch attempt while you’re staying at a beachfront vacation rental in South Padre Island.
