The three lightning towers at Kennedy Space Center are approximately 600 feet tall, taller than the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) which is 525 feet tall. The refurbished flame trench and new flame deflector will be exposed to peak temperatures of 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit during launch. This will enable the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, with its 27 engines, to safely lift off from Launch Pad 39A.
